I have had a strong interest in social justice and political activism since childhood, and I have pursued these issues in my personal and professional life. I attended Bard College at Simon’s Rock and Pomona College, where I studied international relations and politics of Southwest Asia and North Africa. During my academic career, I spent time in Morocco and Switzerland with the School of International Training. These programs provided me invaluable firsthand insight into how U.S. foreign policy is made and the real world impacts it has abroad.
After graduating, I worked in the Federal government on issues related to consumer protection, technology policy, and international relations at the U.S. Department of Justice and in the U.S. Senate. Though this was an important learning experience for me, it also highlighted the fundamental socio-political shortcomings embedded in the United States’ system. This encouraged me to meet my desire to make change at the systems level in a new way.

In 2021, I decided to transition toward Social Finance and began my work with Natural Investments as part of Malaika Maphalala’s advisory team. In addition to working with my own clients, both individuals and organizations, I manage all my team’s public trading and provide investment analysis and market commentary for Natural Investments at large. I am located on the Big Island of Hawaii, but my clients span the across the United States. As a member of Malaika’s advisory team, I work closely with her and with our support team to meet our clients’ needs. Our team consists of Keahi Kaheiki and Tiana Dunn.
Keahi is our team’s Private Placement Manager and holds a Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional™ designation. She manages the private market and community investment process for our office and works directly with clients while also serving as the firm’s Rebalancing Manager. Tiana is our Client Services Administrator and also holds a Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional™ designation. She works directly with clients to support all administrative needs and conducts research for the firm’s Heart Rating tool.
After many years living on the West and East Coasts, I moved back to my home state of Hawaii in 2020 and currently reside on the Big Island with my cat Portia. I enjoy painting, exploring the great outdoors, and experiencing new places and people through travel.
